Digital and Internet Safety

Please take time to review the NetSmart flyer (linked on the right) to remind students and parents of safe internet behaviors and practices.

Parents can change their student’s network password to better manage risks from unauthorized users and to facilitate student access. Please refer to the Parental Password Management document linked on the right.

STUDENT ONLINE LEARNING AT HOME:

While the Hawthorne building is closed, teachers are working hard to continue to teach remotely via packets and online instruction. Laptops have been made available to students to use at home to continue their classwork. To gain access to all teacher/student programs for instruction and learning please click on the STUDENT ONLINE RESOURCES button on the homepage of our website. For help to locate this button click on the link to the right.

STUDENT EMOTIONAL LEARNING; an at home resource

Our School Counselor, Lisa Jones, has provided this resource to help students in grades K-2 learn to identify what they are feeling and to deal with negative emotions. For access to the 8 lessons click on the link to the right. As you use these lessons, clicking on the appropriate picture will connect you with the book/resource in You Tube.

Mindfulness Web Site http://bemindfulwithmsbobbi.weebly.com/

This simple website is intended to provide mindful activities and resources to parents and students, because who couldn't use a little more mindful fun in their lives right now? It was created by a SLCSD school social worker who is passionate about mindfulness and sharing it with others!

Utah Education Network (UEN) Resources:

In order to support our education partners, UEN launched a website called Learn@Home. The site consolidates timely resources for PreK-Grade 12 teachers, students and parents/caregivers. While many of the resources are for students with home internet access, you’ll also see a link to the UEN-TV schedule with educational programming that is available statewide through television channel 9.1., and programs for early learners from PBS Utah, including the 24/7 kids channel 7.4.  UEN will be adding resources as they become available.
